Today at the State House in Banjul, His Excellency, President Adama Barrow received a delegation of Senegalo Gambian Network of Women Entrepreneurs and leaders.
The delegation was at the presidency to discuss with the head of state the challenges they are faced with in facilitating trade between the Gambia and Senegal, and beyond.
President Barrow having keenly listened to the concerns of the women, assured them of his government’s support while emphasizing that, women’s advancement and empowerment are integral to his government’s development plan, the NDP 2018-2021.
The NDP allocates a yearly budget of D5 million to an entrepreneurship fund to promote women’s economic empowerment.
“When women move forward, society moves along with them. Women are integral to the transformation process of the new Gambia. President Sall and I are committed to taking this Senegal-Gambia relations at all levels,” He informed.
